Peterkin can host up to 140 guests overnight. Gravatt Hall is our main lodge and the first building you come to on campus, built in the early 1900s. This two story structure sleeps up to 25 people in rooms for 1-2 individuals with shared bathrooms on each wing. Gravatt also has several gathering areas for 20-30 individuals, a small kitchen, and wraparound porch with rocking chairs.
Our Youth Lodges (Atkinson, Smith, and Campbell) were built in the early 2000s and are single storied (except Campbell.) They are traditional bunkhouses, sleeping up to 8 individuals per room and four rooms in each lodge. Each room has an ensuite bathroom with two sinks, two showers and two toilets. Atkinson and ground level Campbell each have an ADA accessible bedroom and bathroom. Each lodge also has a large great room. Two of our lodges are connected by a large breezeway with rocking chairs, which is perfect for socializing.
All meals are served in Peterkin’s Dining Hall, which seats up to 150 individuals; special dietary needs will be accommodated upon notification prior to your visit.
Worship is at the heart of life at Peterkin and we have several dedicated worship spaces on our campus. Beautiful and picturesque Strider Chapel seats up to 150 worshippers. The Chapel features a decorative altar area and is enhanced with skylights. Prayer Hill provides a place for worship in a lovely outdoor setting that overlooks Mill Creek Mountain.
The Pavilion is a large multipurpose building. Featuring a small stage and bathroom facilities, this space can be arranged for large presentations or great social gatherings. Trinity, in contrast, is a smaller open-air pavilion used frequently for recreational activities but could be set up for smaller receptions.
There are gravel roads and walkways throughout the grounds. From Gravatt to the Youth Lodges (beginning and end of the campus proper) is about a quarter of a mile. Gravatt, Dining Hall, Chapel and the ground level Youth Lodges have entrance ramps but are not all ADA compliant.
Peterkin’s facilities include athletic fields for recreational activities, miles of hiking trails, a recently-upgraded zero-entry swimming pool that is perfect for swimmers of all ability levels, a dedicated campfire area, and more.
